LIVERPOOL FC ACADEMY EMBRACES RURAL INDONESIA

-Liverpool F.C. International Football Academy & Soccer Schools (LFCIFAss) and PT Agspec Indonesia have launched an innovative program to bring football to kids from the farming communities of rural West Java.

This community project will kick-off in February 2012 with participating teams from the Kabupaten Garut, Bandung, Subang, Karawang, Indramayu and Brebes.

Coaching will be provided to the squads by LFCIFAss coaches and the finals of this 4-month long competition will be played in Jakarta. Prizes for the most outstanding players will include scholarship coaching invitations to the LFCIFAss regular programmes in Jakarta.

Agspec is an agribusiness supplying Indonesian farmers a range of unique crop nutrition and crop protection products that enhance both crop yield and quality.

-Roger Pinder, Director of Agspec’s business in Indonesia said “The passion for football is shared by both city and rural kids alike. Liverpool F.C has one of the greatest traditions and histories in the world and to give farmers’ kids this opportunity in the communities where Agspec conducts business is a great privilege.” Mr Pinder plans on this becoming an Agspec National event.

Chris Wren, Commissioner of LFCIFAss added “Liverpool F.C has a great tradition of working with communities in projects that are specifically targeted and relevant. So much opportunity for kids is Jakarta-centric and we are pleased to take the ‘next step’ in our mission to make the ‘Liverpool Way’ available to kids throughout Indonesia. We hope other companies will follow the Agspec lead and we welcome enquiries for community collaboration.”

Agspec to distribute Plant Impact’s InCa in Australia, September 2011

-Agspec Australia has been appointed distributor of Plant Impact’s InCa for the Australian and New Zealand markets. InCa is a calcium delivery system for crops and plants, based on Plant Impact’s patented CaT technology which invigorates localised redistribution of calcium in plants. InCa is different to all other calcium containing products: it is much more effective in delivering calcium and moving it at the cellular level.

InCa’s unique technology allows the grower fewer applications and lower inputs. In addition to combating stress, it strengthens cell walls, promotes healthy cell division and reduces physiological disorders. The end result is increased yields, better quality produce and longer shelf life.

Australian Director, Jonathon Lillecrapp said “InCa fits perfectly into our product portfolio which includes agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides and soil ameliorants. InCa is regarded as the leading Calcium product and is increasingly sought after by growers”.

According to Scott Garnett, Plant Impact’s Sales Director, “this is Plant Impact’s first marketing and distribution agreement covering Australia and New Zealand and as such represents a significant milestone, increasing the global reach of the Company’s technologies and products”.

Hyper-Stick with Fungicides. “Outstanding”, September 2011

-I am about to spray my crop with a fungicide and there is a chance of rain, is there anything I can use to help it stick to the crop?”

Up to now, the answer to this common question has been NO. Most chemistry use either a surfactant or oil/surfactant mix. Therefore an effect similar to a dishwashing liquid, they actually assist with wash-off. In 2010 Agspec Australia launched Hyper-Stik®, a pine resin polymer that actually assists chemistry “stick” to the leaf, dramatically improving its rainfastness.

“The feedback from the use of Hyper-stik with foliar fungicides was excellent”, Phil Lintern, Business manager, said.

Farmers noticed an immediate improvement with all mancozeb formulations, especially the rain improved mancozeb. Hyper-Stik with Enviroshield Technology™ not only provides assistance with rain events but also slows and thus reduces UV light breakdown and wind dehydration, while improving leaf deposition and uptake.

Hyper-Stik is a unique non ionic surfactant that has properties of a wetter, attributes of an oil, and a stickability never before seen in broadacre agronomy. With the advantage of being naturally based, its softness and cuticular support means Hyper-stik is an ideal adjuvant with foliar fungicides, insecticides and foliar nutrients.

Where fungicides and insecticides are mixed with herbicides, the herbicide surfactant must be used, and not Hyper-Stik.

“Growers even commented on that they could still see the fungicide on the leaf after several rain events”, Phil said. “This gave growers confidence that the fungicides they were spraying, were actually going to do the job and not be washed off”, he said.

“This season has similar weather patterns to last season, and so vigilance in disease control is imperative to maintain yield potential” Phil said.

Agspec expands in Thailand - September 2011

-In line with its expansion plan, Agspec has launched Agspec (Thailand) Limited based in Bangkok, with its first sales during August. The Thailand business will be headed up by Mr Kittikorn Suknual (pictured with customer group “Esteem”), who has long term experience in multinational companies, Aventis and Dow. He is joined by Mr Weera Chetkul who will manage the wholesale and retail market and Ms Darat Marapong as Customer Service/Office Staff.

Mr Andrew Glynn, Managing Director of Agspec, said that Thailand is one of the most important agricultural countries in South East Asia and Agspec "just has to be present" in this market. " Thailand has a wide variety of crops, a strong food export business and good agricultural infrastructure" he said. Thailand is the largest global exporter of rice (Vietnam is second), as well as being a major global player in other important food crops and industrial crops such as sugar, tropical fruits, rubber and oil palm.

The Thailand Crop Protection Industry has recently faced some challenges, through some complex Government legislation; however there are input demands outside of this. Mr Glynn said Agspec has a strong product offer in Thailand with its plant nutrition expertise and novel agricultural products. Agspec will launch the Australian invention "Chalice" - a moth bait to attract and kill adult Plutella xyllostella moths in September. Chalice is designed to work in IPM (Integrated Pest Control) approaches to food production.

Sumatra .... Here we come!!! - August 2011

--Pak Fauzi, current Head of Sales in West Java will take charge of Java and Sumatra as Indonesia Sales Manager, following a decision to expand ahead of plan and put Sales Teams across Java and also into Northern Sumatra. With its growing population of 220 million people (of whom 60% reside in Java) , and corresponding vegetable and fruit production and huge industrial crop area such as Oil Palm, Mr Fauzi said it needs a big team to get up all of the small roads and remote areas. Agspec plans to expand its Indonesian team to 60 people by June 2012.

Managing Director of PT Agspec Indonesia, Mr Roger Pinder (pictured) explained that the expansion is borne of necessity with new suppliers joining the Agspec Phenomenon and the need to get the "runs on the board" as quickly as possible.

Mr Pinder said that Agspec Indonesia will be distributing products from Miller Chemicals, Trade Corporation and Curtis Dynafog Machinery throughout Indonesia. Recently new suppliers Gowan International (Magister® Miticide, Dicarzol® Insecticide and Harpon® Fungicide), Sanichik (a novel chicken hatchery sanitary product) and Agpsec's own Blue Spear fertilisers have been added to the range.

Agspec Indonesia will provide motorcycle helmets to their staff, to ensure safe working conditions out in the countryside. Mr Andrew Glynn, Director is pictured presenting a helmet to Pak Asep.
